How I Work
I am committed to helping you to develop a meaningful, happy and contented life whilst living abroad.
Through our coaching sessions and additional resources and tools we will work together to utilize and develop your best personal resources so that you have the confidence, knowledge and skills necessary to build your happy and successful life abroad.
What you can expect:
- The ‘best decision’ – When you ask me to support you as you work through your decision making process you will know that you have made the ‘best decision’ possible and feel happy that this decision fits with your personal and career vision and goals.
- Depart on relocation day knowing that you and your family have prepared to the best of your abilities and are ready to embrace your new future abroad.
- To put a halt to the downward spiral that can come with culture shock and loneliness in those early weeks and months and encourage you to take action to build a happy and contented life abroad.
- To develop a meaningful life abroad. Working with the trailing partner I will support you as you identify how you want to spend your life abroad, pursuing your own passions and interests to secure personal as well as family achievements.
My beliefs, values and principles:
Living abroad should be a fun, enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
For many it is but for others lack of support and care mean that it can be a lonely, difficult and sometimes stressful process. I provide the support, encouragement and so facilitate my clients to extract the best from their lives abroad.
Open your mind to the possibilities:
Looking at the positive aspects of expatriate living and spotting the opportunities for creating a fulfilling life is what my style of coaching is all about. I help you to visualize where you want to be and I then support you as you discover how you can best utilize your strengths to get there!
We are all ‘responsible’ for our own choices and actions:
I ask that you accept responsibility for choosing to move your life forward in a new direction. Commitment to action and taking responsibility for those actions forms the basis for progress.
Recognize and celebrate your successes:
We are often conditioned to readily note our failings and rarely acknowledge our successes. I encourage you to regularly reflect on successes – to enjoy even celebrate them! and create a more positive mindset for success.
My coaching philosophy and process:
My coaching style is conversational, collaborative, goal directed and solution orientated. After developing an understanding and awareness of your problems or issues, we will focus on identifying the appropriate actions necessary to create the progress needed to achieve your goals.
- I promise to provide a non-judgemental environment of support and encouragement.
- I treat all clients with respect and dignity. I respect your opinions, values and beliefs and encourage you to live in a way that honours them.
- I believe that everyone has the ability to achieve great things. We all already have all the resources we need OR we can create them. There are no unresourceful people only unresourceful states of mind.
- I aim for the coaching process to be revealing, life enhancing, fun and enjoyable. It is very important to me that you enjoy the work we do together.
How I am unique:
I specialize in helping people living and working abroad to make the most of their expatriate experience. I have lived abroad for over nine years and been repatriated home once. I have experienced and studied the challenges first hand and can support you to overcome similar challenges and build a fulfilled and contented life abroad.
